In the first animation class, we were assigned to recreate the movie scene shot-wise with non human props (we had not learned to rig yet). I decided to do a recreation of Cabin in the Woods where the Zombie Buckner is throwing around Dana and is about to kill her when Marty comes and saves her by stopping his bear trap on a chain with his extendible telescopic bong.
Hindsight, I wish that I was joking, but that was the scene. However, since spinning objects and props are hard to really make work, instead of a zombie human relationship, I used a knife and a vegetable. Instead of having him spin a bear trap on a chain that would need rigging, I just had the knife spin over head. Why wouldn’t a sentient killer knife spin like a helicopter?
